SAIGON: Ideal Dating Spots

Everyone needs to date someone at some points in their lives. In fact, most people on Earth date. There’re about 69,963,473 couples dating per day (yup, I made that up, but I just wanna prove that dating is as habitual as a meal to survive). If dating doesn’t exist, what a lonely and cold world it could be right?

Well, I think that’s enough for the introduction of dating. Now I’m going straight to the point: everyone need to choose somewhere to date! When people have decided who to date, when to date, there comes the location decision. It is  as important as the person you would date! So this article would recommend you (if you live in Saigon) some of (in a slightly subjective opinions) ideal dating spots in this beautiful city.

A dating spot should be categorized by styles. I noticed that so don’t worry, I will show you the spots by the most mainstream styles categorized below. Feel free to imagine your lover/partner/something-else/wifey/hubby … in those places to see if they are ideal to you two or not.

Romantic

Crescent lake – District 7.

This might be the most popular romantic dating spot in Saigon. Well, this place have a beautiful walking street, a bridge full of stars, numerous of fancy restaurants … and a lake! That’s enough for a romantic spot, right?

The Crescent lake is beautiful, but it might make you bored because there’re not many things to see and you’ll be walking the same path each time you come here. Yeah, that’s the only and the biggest drawback of this spot. Highly recommend for a first date or a date to warm up the “chemistry” or the romantic feeling in a date.

Top of Thu Thiem tunnel – The other side of Saigon river – District 2.

There are very few good things to talk about this place aside from the fact that it has a stunning view to the city. Hiding in a secluded area right next to Saigon river that separate the dazzling lights of District 1, this makes the whole place an ideal place to watch the cityscape at night.

This unique-named Mediterranean restaurant located right next to the center of the city – the Bitexco tower – which I considered it to be the center, so it would be a pretty ideal place for having a date with a non-Saigoneers to have a dinner then showing them around the city.

The light decorations here are spectacular. This creates warm and cozy vibes for the restaurant that could boost your romantic and loving vibes for the couples dating here. If you’re wondering how’s the food here, check out an article about Mediterranean restaurants here.

Mary Jane’s The Bar – 85 Nguyễn Hữu Cầu, Quận 1.

There’s a universal fact that elevated spot makes people feel more captivating and excited. But rooftop restaurant/cafe are often expensive. If you’re a student, you may never have been to those place because of the prices. Thanks to this Mary Jane’s The Bar – located in the 10th floor of an office building that fair prices to the drinks and food.

The drink is okay, the food is fine, the decorating is pleasing, everything about this place is fair to the prices it offers. Since the location of this spot is a little far from the center of Saigon, the view here is acceptable, nothing special. Unlike most of the cafes in town, Mary Jane open till 11 pm – this help the spot earned a mark when it comes to dating spot.

Fancy

The Deck Saigon – 38 Nguyễn Ư Dĩ, Thảo Điền, District 1.

Another riverside view spot but this ain’t free like the place nearby the Saigon river. Well, the Deck is a fancy one, served mostly Western cuisine with a broad view to the river that could deliver every couple with the breeze, scenery needed for a romantic vibe.

We don’t have lots of photos for this spot but we are sure this restaurant is one of the most elegant restaurants we’ve been visited in Saigon and it is totally adequate for a romantic date night. Also, watching the daylight turns black in the twilight period are quite an experience here.

EON51 Heli Bar – Bitexco Tower

As you know higher places are usually getting more romantic. Talking about dating, why not take your date to the highest place in Saigon right?

So if you want to get high with your date, literally, go to EON51 – this is likely the highest point so far that you can dine and drink with your significant other. And by the way, you can check out Couer’s review about this place here.

Cute & Vintage

Partea – 4th floor, 42 Nguyễn Huệ, District 1.

Admit it, dating in a coffee shop is obviously too mainstream. Thus, we suggest that the next time you go on a date, try tea instead. But where to drink tea and still have that special element that you can confidently take your date with? Don’t worry, we’ve got the name: Partea – English Room. Aside from specialized in tea, this place offers a cute, delicate interior decor and that would leave a good impression to anyone who likes that sort of thing. Sweet cake often goes great with tea so Partea doesn’t forget to add pastries into its menu.

Mellow Creperie – 51A Huỳnh Khương Ninh, Da Kao, District 1.

This spot also offers the white furniture and that cute and vintage kind of style just like Partea. But the reason I put this into the list is because Mellow Creperie is specialized in the dessert in case you get tired of tea or the place itself, Mellow Creperie is the choice for you. Take her/him to here sometimes because we believe a find date night should end (before kisses) with dessert.
