About My Japan Trip
You might have thought that my first day in Japan is over when I introduced Osaka Castle – the iconic structure of Osaka but that’s not all. I still have a lot of time in the afternoon to visit Shinsaibashi shopping arcade. Well, I won’t show you my goodies I had their like Uniqlo, GU, H&M but I will show you how well Osaka treated me with such delightful, guilty pleasure fulfilling food.

I know you would expect me to get some octopus pies, eat ramen or miso soup. You were right to expect it, because I will try them all along the way. In the mean time, for the first day, I will try the sweets. Because everyone needs sweetness in their life. So why not today? When I have come to play with shika deer and visited the most beautiful castle ever, I feel blessed and need sweets to sum it all up.
So there are three shops I stopped by to have the sweetness at the end of the day.
Forest berry soft ice-cream

With only 350 yen, you will have the most tender and flavorful ice-cream ever. Autumn breeze and ice-cream chilliness is the best combo. You can revisit my ice-cream adventure in Japan to read more of other ice-cream I tried.
Maison de Gigi

I expect nothing, I just find that these waffles are extremely cute, wondering if they taste as good as they look. So I bought two of them, one is original flavor (140 Yen) without any caramelization or sugar coated, and a chocolate coated one (160 Yen.)
I try, firstly, the original and then the chocolate coated. In my honest opinion, the original is better. Its crispiness, its light flavor and its texture is well articulated. Definitely, I will have more of it (if I have a chance to revisit Japan.)
They also have Brussels style waffles, crepes and parfait with a relatively high pricing, and I am in the mood of taking away so some pieces of waffles are enough. Let’s move on to the next shop.

Le Croissant Shop

You might say it is too many Western sweets for a day. But I just love the cuteness they offer so why not. The mini sized waffle and now the mini sized croissant. They are all hard to resist. I stumble this place trying to reach the main road called Midosuji-Mitsuderacho to find Apple Store and purchase some techie goodies. But the tiny shop captures my eyes and keeps me there for a moment. I decide to have another take-away since I don’t want to waste time and have to get back to my hotel in Sakai to freshen up.

Hope you enjoy my first day in Japan, and I promise you the second day is even better since we visit a lot of temples and food (still tasty) in Kyoto. Venture on!
