On a lazy rainy Sunday, cafe hopping has never failed to cross my mind. Researching in advance for the new and chic cafe is fun. The little exploration is even more exciting. But not all exploring attempts are satisfying. Some days, I failed; as the cafe doesn’t live up to its beautiful photos on Instagram and bad recommendations from cafe hoppers. Those experience I let it wasted in un-posted blog entries. Well, this Sunday is not like any other discouraging Sunday, thanks to this floral cafe: Padma de Fleur.

The Decoration
From the outside, it hints nothing about a coffee shop and it’s not particularly nice for a flower shop. When entered, we are overwhelmed by the fresh and airy space, complimented with aromatic scent. Flowers are bundled up along the side walls. Some antiques filled up the intended cracked sky-blued wall. A large table sits behind a pile of flower. Tables for two are seated next to the other wall. Each table-for-two is a tiny garden beneath the glass with pots of plant being well placed; and the glass cover makes us feel green looking at it.
The Indoor Garden
The coffee shop is impressive in length, outreaching about 20 meter and being divided into two sections: one for the AC-ed coffee shop space, another is the outdoor garden one. The second space is used for the florists to work their creative magic, conjuring beautiful bouquets for wedding and event. Florist was their first passion and objective for the shop, coffee is just a new add-on to gain more visitors. I have to say that they have made a rightful decision. I totally love the place and want to come back and grab some plants home.

The Beautiful Drinks
The last part is way beyond my imagination. Look at the menu I captured below. It is simplistic with basics: juices, coffee, etc. But in fact, it succeeds in fooling us. The way the drinks are presented is sophisticated and complex, unlike anything in my presumption. They are literally beautiful. Skillfully displayed natural flowers around the drink is truly a jaw-gapping moment when they pulled them out. The coffee set is the highest rate with 125,000 VND (nearly $4.00) and my drink, dried apricot plum, is 45,000 VND ($2). This is what we call “never judge a drink by its menu.”
